Review: Tiny Prints Holiday Cards

I hate to even whisper this to you, but Thanksgiving is NEXT FREAKIN’ WEEK ALREADY. Before you know it, the Mighty December Holiday Juggernaut will be upon us. No matter which traditions you follow (or don’t), the last few weeks of the year always seem to pass in a frenzy of noise, expectations, Stuff You Just Gotta Do, and long lists of things you haven’t done yet. Not that you get a “pass” on all the other everyday things you have to do, or buy, or make, or attend, or…

With all of the other tasks already piled on your plate, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to cut down on the amount of time you spend shopping for just the right cards, inscribing each one individually, addressing them all, licking the envelopes, sticking the stamps, and carting them off to the Post Office so you can stand in line?

Tiny Prints can’t help you with the standing-in-line part, but they can help you create distinctive, personal holiday greetings featuring your photos and messages, and deliver them to you in a minimum of time. Wouldn’t it be nice to save a little time and get something even more personal than what you can find in the stores?

I’m really not a big fan of Christmas in general, but I do like sending and receiving cards from distant friends whom I don’t see often — especially if the cards contain or feature photos of the dogs. There have been years — too many of them — where I’ve simply had to ditch the cards for lack of time. The high quality quick-print photo cards have become major time-savers for me, plus I just love making them.

Tiny Prints offers a certain line of cards that I just haven’t seen anywhere else: circle cards! They come in a variety of designs ranging from Victorian to modern to holiday-neutral, and they include satin ribbons so the cards can be hung on the tree, the mantelpiece, or wherever you’d like to display them. Each card measures 5.5″ in diameter, and comes on heavyweight card stock (matte or glossy; your choice).

I picked out about half a dozen favorites just from the 46 available circle cards alone, but the one I chose to create was the Always Merry Happy circle card. Like many of the other card designs of all shapes, all you have to do is upload a single photo to the front, and then add additional text (and another optional photo, if desired) on the back. You can upload photos from a gazillion different places, including your computer, Picasa, Shutterfly, and even your Facebook account.

You can even use grayscale or sepia-tone filters on the photo for a vintage look.

These cards came out so nicely that I’d be tempted to just decorate my own tree with them instead of sending them! Some other card designs include the year — or you can always add it yourself — and voilà! Instant keepsake!

Tiny Prints also offers coordinating holiday address labels and holiday party invites. they even have a line of holiday coloring/activity cards just for kids.

This one's my favorite!

There are plenty of good quick-print companies out there that will deliver high-quality products at a minimum of time and expense, but if you’re looking for some truly distinctive cards and print products, definitely check out all that Tiny Prints has to offer. The company is currently running a 20% off promotion with a free shipping code (freeship11), so you might want to get there soon!
